Back to the basics never felt so good…
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.

I always look forward to what God shares during RESET seasons. Many revelations and next level dimensions but all seemingly basic at the core. Life has a way of unvailing the truth in the scripture for those who are willing to see and hear.
This last RESET has not been like the rest. It has been more profound and more literal than I think I have experienced since I started this health and personal growth journey. I had many things that were litterally getting reset such as schedules, mindsets, daily self care protocols, relationships , career focus, and heart postures.
I recently moved to a new home and new town, one of which I hadn’t planned but am ever so thankful for, as you may have read in recent blog posts but this all plays into what RESET is about. You take what life has thrown at you and you turn it into something awesome all while growing and evolving.
This RESET was God ordained and the focus was the daily practice of asking what to do each day and just following His lead. My routine bounced back to what I would call normal for me, in terms of morning prayer, food prep and cutting back on treats and moving more regularly but I was also taking a a course so with all the studying there were some drawbacks on physical activities but sometimes priorities change and your focus makes you a little unbalanced for a short season and then you can get back to other things when the time again permits. I primarily worked out from home and daily walks in nature as this has become very ritualistic for me and healing in multiple ways. I have been diligent to keep increasing my brain capacity, not for recovery reasons as much as last year but ultimately for growth, because even if there is a slower response I refuse to allow my brain to do anything but progress. As I always say, do as much as is possible and let God do the rest.
I have also been working hard at my new ukulele practice and have been getting prepared for my first performances for the holidays. I’m pretty excited about that as I know music always puts smiles on people’s faces. Focusing on simple pleasures have been the norm in this last 3 months and I have so much to be grateful for, my RESET journal is full of thanksgiving.
The part in the RESET program where you take inventory of your schedule was pretty revealing to me this round and I re-adjusted some of the areas that I felt were being wasted and realigned myself to some multi-tasking and solid rest scheduling.
I really felt more like my kid self in this last RESET than ever before. It’s been so fun and amazing just enjoying the basics with good people and simple pleasures. It was like God was renewing me from the inside out and showing me all the places I had compromised who I was and who I was made to be. Piece by piece I was getting a renewal of spirit. It was really great to reflect on the places and opportunities that have been given to me over the years but also the ability to leave it all there, in the past and just take the good parts and leave the not so good behind. I am so looking forward to the next SHIFT and see where life takes me next.
The world has a lot of problems these days but I want to remind you that they aren’t all yours. I know for me, I really had to get that through my head this round. Taking care of ourselves is our first responsibility and obviously not our only one but sometimes you need to take a step back and take care of yourself so you CAN again take care of others in a healthy way.
I do want to say that this selfie was hard to post because my mind has changed about a lot of the ways we relate with each other and perhaps there are good and bad things about the way we share with each other but I do want you to know that when you share your RESET progress with others you do inspire many of us. I know as I watched many others RESET I was encouraged on my own journey and that’s good enough reason to share your progress. It gives us hope and those who don’t like it, they don’t get it and that’s ok.
If you haven’t taken the RESET yet I encourage you to do so. The steps are all good reminders and the flow keeps you going and growing.
Thanks for being part of my journey and I hope that you too can enough the simplicity of life and all it has to offer.
Every year we have the opportunity to HEAL, to GROW and to EVOLVE.
I have always believed in the power of the gather. When women come together and unite, we empower each other to live our life to the fullest and we find the strength to press on.
Here is the latest… Next Retreat details coming soon.
The seasons changing is always a great time to reflect on what you have accomplished so far throughout the year. I have been so busy doing my new life that I’ve actually fallen behind on blogging and sharing as I used to. Well, I guess if you are following me on Youtube you will know that I’m still sharing, just in a different way and about what I believe is the most important part of our health and wellness journey.
One very common food additive that has caused many of my clients gut issues seems to be controversial. I have also experienced the pain of having carrageenan in my diet and have had very uncomfortable bloating and digestive issues. I recently found the cream I used to buy now has added it and I’ve had to search out new cream options. I wonder why there is so many people talking about it and yet it is still put in foods with no added benefit? Either way, I thought I’d bring some light and enlighten you if you have been experiencing gut issues and can’t seem to figure it out. This is only one of the many options that could be causing you health problems. My suggestion is to take it out of your diet for a week or so and see if that helps.

What’s the best way to detox, reduce bloating and get regular?
I get asked all the time, what’s the best way to detox after the holidays? Depending on how long you’ve been in holiday mode will determine how easy it is to detox. Some people live a lifestyle of holiday mode, for those folks, it’s going to take a little more of a lifestyle change to see real results but for those of you that just need to kickstart your fitness routine after the holidays you will find some great recipes and some of my favourite detox ingredients that I keep around to make tasty water and detox drinks.
Are you one of the people who has been storing food waiting for the food shortages to begin? Perhaps you are already dealing with a food shortage or you have noticed that some of your favourite foods are rising in price like you’ve never seen. Well either way I think it’s a good time to start talking about healthy food for the whole family on a budget. I know it’s been a tough time for many people this last couple of years so I wanted to touch on some food options that are easier on the pocket and remind you that there are tons of options for healthy eating so never limit yourself to ichiban noodles and KD if you are trying to save money. Eat smart and highly nutritious food. The ideas in this article are here to give ideas to eat healthy and to what to have in your food storage for the just in case or long term storing.
One step at a time...
It’s been quite a time this last couple of years, it seems like recovery has become a regular thing for me. From severe concussions, tumors and broken necks I think by now I can say I know what it’s like when people go through tough times. I’m not going to say it’s easy but I will say that there has been a lot to learn throughout it all and that I’m more grateful than I’ve ever been for the decent health that I do have; without health we really have nothing.
After my accident I really needed some time to regroup, rest and recover, those things have always been hard for me. This year has been an interesting test of faith but surprisingly a real filling up of it also. It’s weird how some of the worst things in life can leave you either faithless or filled to the top with hope and expectation. I feel filled, blessed and excited about what’s to come and how God will turn it all around. In my experience, after a lot of trials and tribulations blessing usually start raining down. God is so faithful, loving and kind and I can’t wait to see what’s next. Whether rain or shine I know that He is right there with me. My recovery time has been good for my faith growth and has given me a level of peace that I have never known. Maybe there’s just something about almost dying that makes you realize nothing lasts that long in the grand scheme of things so might as well make the best of it.
I am still weak and still do suffer from quite a bit of pain from time to time but that is normal and to be expected. I don’t think it will be long before I’m fully healed and ready to be active like I’m used to. My hope is while I focus on my diet and exercise and incorporate some naturopathic and physical therapy remedies I will be back to full health in no time but patience is likely needed as some injuries can linger.
As for training, I have been starting at the basics like walking, laundry folding ( you’d be surprised how much this can hurt when you first get started) and working my way up to chopping wood and other mountain chores. I find some days I just want to push myself because it’s hard not feeling strong but when I do I end up having to nap or just end up really sore sitting in ice baths. Either way, it’s all part of the process and I know it will get better with time.
I’m not quite ready to share with you all what’s been brewing behind the scenes but I can say that God is doing a new thing in this season and there is a lot to look forward to for those who love Him. Don’t let anyone tell you different, especially if you have been suffering many challenges. God is good all the time, “All the time God is good” even when it doesn’t feel like it or look like it. There is a plan and purpose for it all.
I pray that you are doing well and thank you for all of you have prayed for me during my recovery, I am praying also for you, your loved ones and our nations.
Wow, it’s been a minute. So much has happened in the last month.
I moved back to BC and started a new project out in Revelstoke, BC.
I wanted to just jump on and give a health update and some of the things that have been helping. If you followed any of my winter health issues including a tumour that was removed i wanted to update you and let you know I’m doing great and feeling much better these days. I was suffering from quite a bit of pain and couldn’t quite figure out what was going on but I have had some relief as of late and thought I would share some of the things that I did.
