The process

by Claire Rae March 26, 2026
written by Claire Rae

There Is No Shortcut

Over the past few years, I’ve met so many new believers as the world continues along what I can only describe as a prophetic trajectory. For those unfamiliar with that language, I’m referring to the Bible and what it says about the last days. There are many ways people try to explain what’s happening in the world right now, but Scripture is very clear—things will grow darker. People will become more selfish, and what is evil will be called good, and what is good will be called evil. And here we are.

Honestly, I never thought I would see things escalate to this level in my lifetime—but I’m here for it. There’s actually a deep peace in knowing that God told us beforehand so we wouldn’t be afraid. Instead of being anxious, we are invited to draw closer to Him as He continues to unfold His truth. I find so much joy in reading His Word daily, learning, and not being caught off guard by what’s happening.

In this blog, I want to encourage those who are newer in their faith. When you first decide to follow Jesus, it can feel confusing. There’s more to this journey than you may realize at the start—but trust this: He will never leave you. He leads you step by step.

That said, it won’t always be easy.

There will be hard seasons. You may lose friendships, and even relationships with family members may change. Not everyone is ready to receive the truth of God’s Word. Some people will twist Scripture to justify how they want to live—I know this because I used to do it myself before I truly understood.

But God, in His mercy, doesn’t leave us there. Little by little, He reveals truth to us. He invites us to follow Him more deeply, and at times, He disciplines us so we can understand the weight and truth of His Word. Every time He speaks, it’s an invitation to go deeper.

Don’t be afraid of that.

This journey is deeply personal between you and God. While others may walk alongside you at different points, there will be moments where your love for Him is tested. That’s the core of it all—loving God above everything else. At the end of the day, He is the One we answer to, so it’s vital that we align our priorities accordingly.

So, stay rooted in His Word. Read it whenever you can—you will need it. The more you read, the more it will reveal what’s happening in your own heart, in the spiritual realm, and in the world around you. Will you understand everything? No. But the closer you grow to the One who does, the more He will reveal—and with that comes a peace and joy that you will need, especially as the days grow more intense.

This leads into something so important: the journey of sanctification.

In many ways, sanctification becomes a new lifestyle. It’s a process of healing from what we once thought was normal in this world. It’s God restoring us back to His original design—to live in alignment with Him and in true harmony with others. It is, in my opinion, the most complete and holistic healing journey a person can experience.

You may be surprised—just as I have been—by the things God asks you to let go of, and the ways your life begins to change. When I look back at how I lived 10 years ago compared to now, the difference is profound. Some of that is natural growth, yes—but much of it is God refining my life.

In a world overflowing with information and opinions, we need discernment more than ever. There are things being promoted as “normal” or even “good” that, deep down, you can sense are off. This isn’t about opinions—it’s about truth. It’s about aligning our lives with God’s Word and allowing Him to shape us through real, lived experience.

There will be challenges. There will be resistance. At times, there may even be persecution. This journey isn’t temporary—sanctification is lifelong. But the benefits go far beyond what we can fully put into words. Yes, there is the promise of eternity with God—but there is also transformation, freedom, and deep, abiding peace here and now.

We are saved by faith in Jesus—but we are also called to walk with Him daily after we say yes. It’s a relationship. In fact, it’s the most important relationship you will ever have.

Like any relationship, it requires closeness, consistency, and intimacy. No marriage thrives without intentional time together—and the same is true here.

This is the first covenant. The foundation for everything else.

So it is as we walk in the process of sanctification we realize it is not a moment—it’s a process, a relationship of unperfected us trying to relate and be in relationship with a perfect partner, God, Master, Husband, Teacher, Creator, Boss… you get the point. We realize quickly that we don’t really measure up. So He helps us, first by showing us things not so good in us and so it starts. A refining. A continual unfolding of truth where God, in His mercy, reveals what needs to change, layer by layer. And the reality is this: there is no escape from the process if you truly desire to walk with Him. You can delay it, resist it, or ignore it for a time—but if you belong to Him, He will faithfully bring you through it.

The Bible makes this clear:

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 1:6

God doesn’t start something He doesn’t intend to finish.

It Starts With hearing what He wants you to do, this can be a nudge of conscience, reading The Word or a deep knowing ( Backed by The Word)—But It Doesn’t End There

For many, sanctification begins with a major, visible change. Maybe it’s quitting drinking, walking away from destructive habits, or choosing a different lifestyle altogether. And while that step is powerful, it’s only the beginning.

When I first started, it felt like a steep shift into what I thought was a “healthy” life. But I quickly realized something important:

Just because you stop one harmful behavior doesn’t mean you are fully living in health.

You quit drinking—but then you realize your diet is still harming your body.
You clean up your eating—but then you notice your thoughts are still negative, anxious, or prideful.
You begin renewing your mind—but then your reactions, your words, your heart posture get exposed.

Sanctification is comprehensive. God is not just after behavior—He is after transformation.

“Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.” — Hebrews 12:1

Notice it doesn’t just say sin—it says everything that hinders.

God Reveals in Layers

One of the most humbling parts of this journey is realizing that God doesn’t show you everything at once. If He did, it would overwhelm you. Instead, He reveals things in seasons.

You deal with one area, grow through it, and then He gently puts His finger on something deeper.

It might look like:

  • First, your habits
  • Then, your health
  • Then, your thought life
  • Then, your words
  • Then, your motives

Each layer brings you closer to who He created you to be.

“Search me, God, and know my heart… See if there is any offensive way in me.” — Psalm 139:23–24

Sanctification requires a willing heart that invites God to search deeper.

The Renewal of the Mind Is Key

At some point, the process shifts from external change to internal transformation. You realize that true freedom isn’t just about what you do—it’s about how you think.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2

This is where many people get stuck. It’s easier to change actions than it is to surrender thoughts. But God will not stop at surface-level change—He wants truth rooted deep within you.

There Is No Escaping It—Only Walking Through It

If you try to avoid the process, you’ll often find yourself going in circles—facing the same struggles, the same convictions, the same nudges from the Holy Spirit.

That’s not punishment. That’s love.

God is committed to your freedom and I am a witness who has made many mistake, yet He keeps guiding, teaching and restoring and taking me deeper yet by His mercy and grace. Although I have been knocked down plenty, He keeps helping me get back up.

“For the Lord disciplines the one He loves.” — Hebrews 12:6

“For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity” – Proverbs 24: 16-18

Sanctification can feel uncomfortable because it stretches you, corrects you, and calls you higher. But it is always leading you into greater peace, clarity, and alignment with God.

From Behavior Modification to Heart Transformation

What begins as “I need to stop doing this” eventually becomes:

  • “Why do I think this way?”
  • “Why do I react like this?”
  • “What is rooted in my heart?”

This is where real change happens.

God doesn’t just want you sober—He wants you whole.
Not just disciplined—but transformed.
Not just outwardly “good”—but inwardly renewed.

The Beauty of the Process

Even though sanctification is challenging, it is also deeply beautiful. It means God is actively working in you. It means He hasn’t left you where you were.

Every conviction is an invitation.
Every correction is refinement.
Every step forward is grace in motion.

“And we all… are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18

Final Thought

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be willing to walk with God through each stage.

Say yes when He highlights something.
Surrender when He asks you to let go.
Trust Him when it feels uncomfortable.

Because sanctification isn’t about perfection—it’s about becoming.

And He is faithful to complete what He started.

If you feel you need help to understand or someone to come along and talk you through some of these things, feel free to reach out for coaching.

-God Bless

Mountain top moments

by Claire Rae August 20, 2024
written by Claire Rae

Next level moments

It’s been a crazy summer and as much as I have wanted to share all the details, there simply has not been enough time to climb the mountains,  farm the land, entertain family and friends, fall in love, train, get good sleeps, cook and eat good healthy meals and rest. I thought I could quickly give you a little update to let you know things are going really great and phase 4 healing really has been the completion of my healing journey. God is at work as always and things are spectacular and better than ever.

If you are popping in for the first time, my name is Claire and I have been a health and wellness coach for 20 years and I was put on a journey to learn first hand about recovery through an extensive trial and training period of 3 years, that included a traumatic brain injury from a snowboarding accident, followed by a cancer scare with a benign tumor, followed by a severe car accident where I broke my neck and suffered more brain trauma all while the world was shutting down and causing emotional and mental trauma. Not to mention losing two of my best friends to substance overdoses and watching other loved ones harm themselves with alcohol and substance to cope with the shifting times. It was a lot and a lot to take recover from.

Since July 2022 after the car accident I have been on the recovery journey and sharing what I can about the miracles, natural remedies and activities that God has been revealing to me during my recovery. I did not have much help from the medical field and my story is one for testimony purposes. My hope is that I can inspire, educate and just share my story that includes natural ways to heal through the guiding of God’s goodness and leading. He has given me a personal blueprint to restore through natural remedies, prayer and divine instruction. I believe He is using my story to help others and bring hope to those going through various trials and to remind people that He is the one with the answers and we can trust Him to bring us through many difficulties. If He can do it for me, He can do it for you or someone you love.

He is on the move in our communities, countries and the world. He is at work as always and it truly is a glorious time to be alive.

Thanks for stopping in.

In my last post I told you guys that I was working with some farmers this year and have been truly having the time of my life, such a great group of people and the physical challenge is just what I needed to strengthen my body and brain. I don’t think I’ve ever had as much fun at work as I do with them and organic farming is just so very rewarding. Knowing you are helping feed other people healthy whole foods is such a good feeling. We have so much fun together at work we decided to go on an adventure because we often don’t have as much time to visit when we are working.  This trip was a great team build and time to get to know each other a little but better. I think these kinds of community activities are just so healthy and needed these days. If you have a church group, family event or work event, I would highly recommend planning a trip like this.

I have been on a few hikes over the years while in recovery but this one was a little longer and a little more challenging. I probably would not have planned to do this one on my own but thankful I was pushed to do so. I have some pretty amazing people around me these days that keep me motivated and challenge me to go a little further and push a little harder. Everyone needs that from time to time and when you are in recovery, it’s important to have people understand your level, so not to push you too hard but also when you are ready, not let you stay in the comfort zone. I am definitely ready to leave the comfort zone and really push it. It can be so easy to fall into excuse zone when you have been knocked down a few times. You do have to push it and you will feel amazing after if you do, plus it will improve your recovery and hopefully all round life in general.

As much as I love training in the gym for strengthening and maintenance, I am very driven by real adventures. The destination adventures are so rewarding and the pictures are always epic.

If you are planning some hiking and you are new to the scene, I do want to tell you it’s a good idea to be prepared. You do need a backpack, water, snacks like trail mix. A good meal is important because these hikes are physically demanding. We had someone with bear spray because you just never know. I always like having a whistle but that’s more for when I’m alone. It always feels safer to go with a group and a lot more fun.

Reggie, was always running from the front of the group to the back making sure no one was getting left behind. He is the best companion and such a good adventure and farm dog, we all love him.
BattlBox

I love the Alltrails app. It really has given us a ton of opportunity to find amazing trails. It also gives us a the information before we set out on our journey so we know how to prepare. I highly recommend downloading it if you haven’t already.

The fun part about getting to the top of Eagle pass is that there is remains of an old cabin that was built up there. I just the thought it was inspiring to think of the work it would take to build at such a highly remote point with such an amazing view. Can you imagine waking up to that view daily? I guess if you wanted to you can always camp overnight to see what it would be like. It might be a little isolating but sometimes that’s just what a person needs.

Anyway, I need to get going as summer is flying by and there is so much I still want to do but I am working on a book that will give more details of the ways God has led me through this interesting and exciting trial to be fully and completely healed. I am officially well now and look forward to having more to share with you in the coming months. I hope you make time to get out there and adventure too, if you are able and if you are also in a trial or recovery, let this story give you hope and remind you, it’s not forever, there are always mountain tops and valley’s on the journey and God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

What work-life balance really looks like.

by Claire Rae August 30, 2018
written by Claire Rae

For anyone who has been successful at anything will likely attest is that there is no such thing as work-life balance when you are truly passionate about something. When you find that thing that really gets you going it’s unlikely you will be planing the time slots in your life to include family, friends, activities, social events, learning, self-care or the like. You simply can’t have it all when you know what you want, be it a new business venture, a fitness goal or a spiritual experience. During the first stages of any goal, there is always focus and a time where other things go to the side while you try and master your goal. There are also times where you will really have to decide who and what can be in your life if you want to achieve your goal. So in say thing, these are some things that you will want to consider and think about very hard before you allow them to take up your time.

It’s been said a million times but I am telling you from experience that this one is trickier than you might think. I don’t think anyone intentionally hangs out with dream killers or bad influences on purpose. There is always a reason why you hang out with them and it may not be healthy. I want to say also that family, although may seem important they still are not as important as you living out your destiny and if they are not part of the equation or they don’t bring to the table an element that you need to succeed or they have no experience in where you are going, be ready to spend a lot less time with them. Families, even the good ones don’t necessarily understand your calling or dream and may not be suited partners or inner circle of people, especially if they have not shown support to you or have doubted you in the past. Those kinds of family members can not be trusted with your dreams. You need not get approval from anyone when God gives you a dream and it may be best if you don’t share it with some of or all of them at all.

Your activities and downtime either bring you closer to your goal or not. If you don’t think that what you listen to or watch affects you then you haven’t watched the uprise of 2020. You can tell exactly what people are filling themselves with based on what they believe is true and how they react to the things around them. The millions of people around the world wearing masks and believing it has some sort of effect even though as they mandate such a thing there yet become an uprising in cases. The complete and utter cognitive dissonance is proof that not only do people believe what they hear even if it doesn’t make sense but it affects their behaviours and emotions. You and I are no different so it is so important that you continue to fill yourself with things that will bring you closer to your goal.

Lastly, make sure you love what you do. It can be very easy to go down a path because you think it will please someone or bring you financial freedom but there are no two paths exactly the same so if you think you will follow in someone’s footsteps and have the same good breaks or that things will turn out well because it did for another but you are not passionate about that thing or you have a sense your gifts or purpose lie elsewhere, it will unlikely workout for you and you will have wasted your time chasing an idea that was never meant for you. It is better to dance to your own drum and follow the rhythm of your own beat as it will reveal to you your purposes and as you live out your God-given dreams ( you know they are from God because they always have you serving others not just yourself) joy and prosperity will follow you.
