Ginger Tea and its benefits

by Claire Rae January 19, 2024
written by Claire Rae

Certainly! Here’s a simple recipe for a popular ginger-based beverage called Ginger Tea:
Ingredients:

  • 1-2 inches of fresh ginger root
  • 2 cups of water
  • Honey or lemon (optional for flavor)
    Instructions:
  1. Begin by peeling the ginger root with a vegetable peeler or the edge of a spoon. Remove any rough or knobby areas.
  2. Slice the ginger root into thin pieces or grate it using a fine grater. The thickness of the slices or the amount of grated ginger can be adjusted according to your preference for a milder or stronger flavor.
  3. In a small pot, bring the water to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Add the sliced or grated ginger to the boiling water. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes. Simmering for a longer duration will result in a stronger ginger flavor.
  5. After simmering, remove the pot from the heat. You can strain the tea if desired to remove the ginger pieces, or leave them in for a stronger taste.
  6. At this point, you can add honey or lemon to enhance the flavor. Stir well until the honey is dissolved.
  7. Pour the ginger tea into mugs or cups and enjoy it while it’s still warm.
Tip: If you prefer a cold beverage, you can refrigerate the ginger tea and serve it over ice.
Note: Feel free to adjust the amount of ginger, water, and honey/lemon to suit your taste preferences. You can also experiment with adding other herbs or spices like cinnamon or mint for additional flavor variations.
Enjoy your refreshing homemade ginger tea!

Could Carrageenan be what’s hurting you?

by Claire Rae July 26, 2023
written by Claire Rae

One very common food additive that has caused many of my clients gut  issues seems to be controversial. I have also experienced the pain of having carrageenan in my diet and have had very uncomfortable bloating and digestive issues. I recently found the cream I used to buy now has added it and I’ve had to search out new cream options. I wonder why there is so many people talking about it and yet it is still put in foods with no added benefit? Either way, I thought I’d bring some light and enlighten you if you have been experiencing gut issues and can’t seem to figure it out. This is only one of the many options that could be causing you health problems. My suggestion is to take it out of your diet for a week or so and see if that helps.

Nature’s Remedies

by Claire Rae October 22, 2021
written by Claire Rae

If there was ever a better time to start learning about natural remedies or get a refresher on them, now would be it.

I know for many people of my generation we have had easy access to almost anything we want. The lifestyle of quick fixes and delivery services may be the best we’ve ever seen but are we losing our survival skills and traditions? I’m not sure the answer to that for you  but I know that I have had a very keen interest in learning all things natural and survival lately. Maybe it’s because the world has become very uncertain these days and that primal instinct is kicking in, I’m sure I’m not alone. I thought I would put together a list of books that you may want to grab in hard copy for your personal library. If for no other reason than to pass down to your kids. It’s great to have home remedies on hand and remember that nature provides all we need.
