Last minute Christmas gifts

If you are like me, you might be scrambling to figure out what to get someone for Christmas. It’s literally in the next few days so don’t panic, I want to help calm your nerves and assure you there is something for everyone, no matter your budget or time. You simply have to get a little creative and remember that Christmas doesn’t always have to be about spending a lot of time or money, but if you have a lot of either of those, don’t hold back, giving is far better than receiving.  Either way, Christmas is about LOVE and God’s love for us by sending His son Jesus- The greatest gift ever given. Don’t let the stress of gift giving make you forget what it’s all about.

While we celebrate the gift that no one could give but Him, we think of ways of loving others and showing our care for them in the way that we can. No stress, just love and creativity is all that is needed.

Here’s some of my last minute gift ideas:

Experiences and adventures.

An experience with someone you love is one way to make incredible long lasting memories together. Plan a hike with a picnic or plan a road trip to see something you can both enjoy. Sometimes it’s just the time spent together that can be the best gift of all. You can wrap it up in a card and write how you see the experience would go down, giving them an idea of the excitement it will be to spend that time together. You can even give them a journal or something small to give them space to write the experience as it takes place. You can purchase tickets to a concert, a comedy show, a local theater performance, or even a cooking or art class. For a more intimate touch, plan a day out with your loved one, like a spa day, a wine-tasting tour, or a picnic in the park. Many venues offer instant e-tickets, so it’s an easy gift that can be sent right away.

If you’d like to book a photoshoot together or just for them… Feel free to reach out to me;) I would love to help give a great gift of experience and memories.- claire@clairerae.com

 Personalized Gift Cards
A gift card may seem like a last-minute cop-out, but it doesn’t have to feel impersonal. Make it special by choosing a store or service that aligns with the recipient’s interests. Consider gift cards for online retailers like Amazon, Etsy, or local shops where they can pick out something unique. To make it extra personal, pair the card with a handwritten note or a small handmade gift, like a mug or a candle, to show you put thought into the gesture.

Subscription Services
If you’re looking for something that keeps giving beyond Christmas, a subscription service is a fantastic idea. Whether it’s a book subscription, a streaming service, a beauty box, or even a monthly snack box, there are tons of options that can be enjoyed throughout the year. Many of these services offer digital gift certificates, so you can easily purchase and email them in minutes.

DIY Gifts- It will take time

Sometimes, the best gifts are the ones you make yourself. Even if you’re short on time, DIY gifts can still be meaningful. Simple ideas like homemade baked goods, hand-poured candles, or even a custom playlist of favourite songs show extra thought and effort. Photo alIf you’re feeling crafty, consider making something personalized, like a photo album, a knitted scarf, or a batch of homemade bath salts.

Handmade or Custom Items from Local Artisans
If you’re running out of time but still want to give something unique, consider shopping locally. Many artisans and craftspersons offer quick turnaround times for handmade items like jewelry, pottery, or artwork. Local markets, craft fairs, or platforms like Etsy feature beautiful one-of-a-kind gifts that feel personal and special. Plus, you’re supporting small businesses in your community.

Last-Minute Digital Gifts
In today’s digital world, you can find a range of online gifts that are just as thoughtful as physical presents. From e-books, audiobooks, and online courses to virtual cooking classes or gaming credits, there are plenty of digital options to choose from. Many platforms, such as Apple, Google Play, or Audible, allow you to purchase digital gifts that can be sent instantly to someone’s inbox.

Charitable Donations in Someone’s Name
If you’re looking for a meaningful gift that’s easy to arrange, consider making a donation to a cause that your recipient cares about. Many charities and nonprofits allow you to donate in someone’s name, and some even offer certificates or acknowledgment cards you can print out and present as part of your gift. It’s a thoughtful gesture that gives back to the community and helps those in need.

Here are some of my favorites:

Salvation Army, Kelowna Gospel Mission.. but you can find one that means something to the one you are gifting or one that moves you.

Gourmet Food Baskets
A food basket can be a delightful and customizable gift. Choose a theme based on your recipient’s tastes—chocolate, wine and cheese, coffee, or even a selection of international treats. You can order these online or assemble your own with a mix of high-quality gourmet items. If you’re really short on time, consider ordering from local delis or artisanal food shops that offer same-day delivery options. You can also just get them a gift card for their favorite grocery store or local farmers market.

Raw Spice Bar

Home Essentials
Everyone appreciates useful home essentials—especially when they come with a creative twist. Think unique kitchen gadgets, cozy blankets, stylish throw pillows, or smart home devices that make everyday life easier. With so many online retailers offering fast shipping, you can quickly find and send these types of gifts to your loved ones, while still ensuring that they’re practical and thoughtful. Heck, even just some of the things you know they use or would buy for themselves anyway.

The Gift of Time
Sometimes, the best gift you can give someone is the gift of your time. Offer to help with a household project, babysit their kids, or run errands for them. This kind of gift can be especially meaningful during the busy holiday season when people often feel overwhelmed. You can write up a voucher for “A Day of Help” or “A Night of Babysitting” and present it as a thoughtful and useful gift.

Regardless of what you decide to get your people, don’t stress if you’re running out of time—there are still plenty of meaningful gifts you can give that won’t require weeks of preparation. Whether it’s a personalized subscription, an experience, or something made with love, thoughtful gifts don’t have to be expensive or time-consuming. The most important thing is the thought and care behind your gesture, and with these last-minute Christmas gift ideas, you’ll be sure to impress your loved ones, even if you’re down to the wire!
